Lab Values
We believe that science is best performed in an inclusive and supportive environment. We value everyone’s unique backgrounds and commit to supporting one another. We will not tolerate words or actions that discriminate or devalue any member of the group. We commit to upholding BU policies to ensure that every member of the lab feels safe, valued, and productive.
We believe in:
Being supportive of each individual and fostering a welcoming and open environment that facilitates idea and resource sharing
Recognizing the value that each person brings to the group, appreciating different backgrounds, and understanding how these backgrounds can contribute to the wholeness of our research and everyone’s professional growth
Collaboration within our own lab, with other labs at BU, and with the scientific community as a whole, and not “gate-keeping” our scientific findings
Respecting scientific inquiry where no question is a bad question, and allowing lab members to have the chance to explore new scientific directions
Appreciating and recognizing the societal impact and foundation of where our lab resources are derived, and contributing our science back to society and the broader Boston community
